Our family lives and works on a small 18-acre ranch in New Plymouth, Idaho and we have been involved with Kelpies for over 10 years.
My wife Nancy has over 13 years working as a veterinarian assistant and helps with the medical and general care of our dogs. Our oldest child, Amber (r) has two Kelpies that she owns and works. Amber and Cooi have already obtained their AHBA HRDI, ASCA STDs,d titles and earned one leg of their STD cattle title. Along the way Amber has earned several Junior Handler honors with Cooi. This is a team to watch! Our son Tyler has recently acquired a young Pembroke Corgi from Whimsy Corgis. Buster is showing lots of herding instinct and especially likes to try his skills on cattle.
My first dog was a Border Collie/Aussie mix and she got me hooked on training stock dogs. After two years of researching the various breeds of stock dogs, I finally settled upon and obtained my first Australian Kelpie. The rest is history -- training, working and competing in stock dog, AHBA, ASCA and AKC trials has become our avocation.
